Alright here's my quiz submission, I think it's fairly decent. Though I may touch up on the results answers if people think I need more substance to them.

What Classical Ninjutsu Element are you?

Possible Results (In Japanese AND English =D)
Fire/Ka
Earth/Chi
Wind/Fu
Water/Sui
Void/Ku

1. Someone throws a punch at you, you...
Drive right in and strike first. (Fire/Ka)
Avoid the strike then counter. (Water/Sui)
Hold my spot and block/avoid the attack then attack back. (Earth/Chi)
I'll do whatever feels right for the moment. (Void/Ku)
I'll go with the flow and turn their offense into my own. (Wind/Fu)

2. Which color do you identify with the most?
Yellow (Earth/Chi)
Blue (Water/Sui)
Red (Fire/Ka)
Black (Void/Ku)
Green (Wind/Fu)

3. What trait fits you best?
Calm (Water/Sui)
Powerful (Void/Ku)
Versatile (Void/Ku)
Aggressive (Fire/Ka)
Unmoving (Earth/Chi)
Easygoing (Wind/Fu)
Confident (Earth/Chi)
Defensive (Water/Sui)
Passive (Wind/Fu)
Quick to Action (Fire/Ka)

4. Which direction do you usually strike from?
Linear/Straight on (Fire/Ka)
Circular (Wind/Fu)
Up/Down (Earth/Chi)
Whatever I feel like. (Void/Ku)
Angular (Water/Sui)

5. Your center of movement comes from your...
Hips (Earth/Chi)
Chest (Fire/Ka)
Shoulders (Wind/Fu)
It depends (Void/Ku)
Abdomen (Water/Sui)

6.Your timing is...
Adaptive (Wind/Fu)
Simultaneous (Earth/Chi)
It varies (Void/Ku)
Delayed (Water/Chi)
Advanced (Fire/Ka)

Results answers

Fire/Ka

You are fire, an aggressive force full of power. You prefer to strike first rather then give people the chance to strike.

Earth/Chi

You are earth, your unmoving and can hold your position. Rather then waste energy moving, you stay put and strike from where you are.

Water/Sui

You are water, your calculating and defensive. Rather then charging in you think and react to your enemy, give up your position, then strike back like a torrent.

Wind/Fu

You are wind, your ever flowing and changing. Your movements are unpredictable and you constantly go with the flow of things.

Void/Ku

You are the void, you have mastered the elements so well you can change your flow easily. Rather then limit yourself to one element you've learned to harness them all and unleash their fury as any situation calls for it.

Uhhh, I hate to nitpick, but if the character you're going for for wind is ιΆ¨, romanize it with kaze - that's wind in Japanese. Maybe fu is too, but I've never heard it? Is it a ninjitsu term?

Otherwise it looks great B2KX

There are two ways to say every Kanji Sheep. One is derived from native Japanese, the other comes from Chinese. I think Fu is the one derived from Japanese, Kaze from Chinese.

The same can be said for
Tsuchi/Chi
Mizu/Sui
Hodo(I think)/Ka

Qwerty is correct, there's 2 ways to use each one. In Ninjutsu we use the ones posted.

Well naturally for the basic 4, something of them appropriately with a kanji of each of them (Fu/Chi/Ka/Sui/Ku) as for Void, something more spacey or mystical would be good.

T.T why is wind so passive . . . I feel like if you tell a tornado or a hurricane, or a tsunami, or any form weather-related disaster that it's passive, maybe not the best :P

I like that it's unpredictable though :D

Plus, I'm thinking about Naruto (and I guess now Sora) and neither of them are passive hahaha

Well wind in Ninjutsu is the element of you kind of just go with the flow of an enemy attack or with whatever they do. It's the least engaging of the 4.

I think of Avatar when I look at this. It fits perfectly with the descriptions too.

I guess when it comes to wind, due to its unpredictability, I think it would be hard to pinpoint winds nature. But going based purely on the type of attacks, thinking about it in terms of say Aikido, it really is the most 'passive' of the types, as it waits for the opponent to attack, right? I was just thinking about the personality of who would use those attacks. I can think of maybe someone who is either calm and collected who could agitate a violent opponent into attacking. Or it could be an aggressive (vocally) person who taunts the opponent into attacking and then using that against them

-nods head- ok I see now :D

Ha. I'm silly. I didn't pay attention at all. These ALL seem to be ON readings. Which is funny, because when characters are used by themselves the majority of the time you use their KUN readings. The ON are the Chinese readings, which is what threw me off, ninjutsu (I thought) having originated in Japan.

Tis the other way around, the on'yomi reading (Chinese) is "fu" and the kun'yomi (Japanese) is "kaze".

Looks interesting, though I dunno where I'd fall on that since I never really been in a fight before.

Ninjutsu started in Japan, yes, but it has heavy Chinese roots. It started with a samurai who combined his fighting art, with the military philosophies of a Chinese Warrior Monk. So Ninja's are the best of both worlds. They got the story of it up on my Ninjutsu Dojo's homepage if your inclined to learn more.

Okay I have the first one done. Once I make the first one the other ones don't take as long.

Tell me what you think.

---Update-----
Here's the rest of them. Sorry I had to cut off some text, there just wasn't enough space for it to look good.

Looks good sag. Although might not need those white lines over the Ka. It kind of distracts a little I think. But the rest of it looks great.

I dunno, I just think they might not be a bad thing to leave those white lines out from over the kanji, since it kind of makes my eyes wander there and makes it feel a little more busy.

Also you don't need the second characters in the Ku or Chi, the first ones suffice enough and are exactly what I have in my notes.

Besides that look great. =D

Aww. Crap. Well editing the Kanji is going to be a lot harder than it looks, cause Photoshop can't record a lot of History.

Forgive me for my transgressions.

Well I think it was a partial my fault for being too lazy to get the kanji myself or having a kanji decipherer on my system.

Okay, Matt - few things before I put this up. Now that I read the questions more carefully, some concerns. Some of your questions are kinda vague, so someone who doesn't really know ninjutsu like me would get confused. xD

#6 - Your timing is... < Timing for what, can you specify?

5th answer in #6 - how can timing be advanced? Explain or specify?

Some of the other questions were a tiny bit confusing but understandable after some careful reading, so if you can make anything more specific or ninjutsu-newbie-friendly then please do so. ^_^

Also, since I don't really know anything about ninjutsu, I need about 1-3 sentences of a description and what this quiz will accomplish that I can put after the header on the quiz.

Thanks! :3 <3

As in how you move and fight. The timing involved in performing techniques.

Quote:

It's advanced because you strike first, before others have the ability to do so. They begin to throw a punch, you already have a technique off on them.

Alrighty how about...

Classical Ninjutsu Elements. Learn which element you command and are adaptive with using when fighting.

I did clean out my box 12 hours ago.

As for signing up as an editor, would it not be better if I laid out stuff here and we discussed it and then someone like you could take the final product and edit it?

Thats fine, Ill ask my sensei as well since hes on that master-level instructors page. No matter what the answer is, I have a lot more study, sweat, bruises, etc. before I can even begin to worry myself about that situation.

This is a tough pill to swallow, but nobody likes an angry crotchity gimp. It is so hard because pain will drive a good man crazy. Get help , I agree with the doorman.
I would say that the chronic pain would turn me from Dr. Jeckyl sp? to Mr. Hyde.
